One of the world’s most beautiful people, mega-model of the 80s and 90s, and living proof that women’s lives aren’t actually over past age 35, Cindy Crawford, is finally retiring after more than three decades of modeling…maybe…
In an interview this week the 49 year-old may have said she’s leaving the biz, “I’m sure I’ll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model any more,” said Crawford. “And that’s OK. I’ve done it. I’ve worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to.”
BUT! A few days later Cindy released a statement, on Instagram because that’s the society we live in, denying that she’s fully retiring. “While it’s true that I’m eager to shift my focus a bit to concentrate on my businesses, friends and family — I’m not making any final statements (not all headlines tell the whole story!),” she wrote. “I have loved being part of the fashion industry for the past 30 years — and if that time has taught me anything, it’s this: never say never.”
So she’s stepping back? Regardless, it’s enough to motivate us to put together a salute to Cindy Crawford for her maybe sort-of semi-retirement. The luscious brunette with the trademark mole above her lip is an inspiring babe and we need very little encouragement to post her up on the site, so enjoy our GIF tribute to Cindy.
If she is retiring it could be because she’s sick of the beach, she seems to have spent a lot of time there being photographed over the last 30 years.
Or the runway; it must lose it’s appeal after a few thousand times.
Of course, laying in beds with roses grows tiring too.
